THE CHILDREN OF JOHN & MILLY HARRIS

John Harris was born in 1738 in Virginia. He died in June 1821 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. When he was 54, he married Mary Walker, daughter of Peter Walker, on July 14, 1792 in Louisa County, Virginia. When he was 62, he married Emily “Milly” Bolling on November 03, 1800 in Orange County, Virginia (Bond signed by: John Harris and Thomas Bell).

John Harris was buried in Oglethorpe County, Georgia.

 

John Harris and Emily “Milly” Bolling had the following children:

 

  1. Elizabeth B. Harris was born in 1801 in Orange County, Virginia. She died on August 11, 1887 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. She married Talcott G. Smith on December 12, 1825 in Clarke County, Georgia (By Milner Echols, Judge Inferior Court).
  2. John D. “Uncle Jack” Harris was born in 1802 in Orange County, Virginia. He died on August 26, 1892 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. He married Lucy Hawkins on December 20, 1824 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia.
  3. Lewis Harris was born in 1804 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. He died before February 12, 1863 in Robertson County, Texas. He married Nancy J. Strong on October 06, 1831 in Walton County, Georgia (By W. Whatley, Judge Inferior Court).
  4. Martha “Patsey” Harris was born in 1806 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. She died after 1880. She married Ransome Kimbrell on July 17, 1823 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia.
  5. Clara “Clary” Harris was born on May 01, 1808 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. She died on June 01, 1864 in Dekalb County, Georgia. She married Seaborn Cochran on December 17, 1827 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia.
  6. Thomas Richardson Harris was born on July 27, 1810 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. He died on October 30, 1871 in Stewart County, Georgia. He married Caroline Matilda Brown on December 23, 1832 in Clarke County, Georgia.
  7. Susannah “Susan” Harris was born in 1812 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. She died before 1875 in Walton County, Georgia. She married Willis Kilgore on November 11, 1833 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia (By Miller Bledsoe MG).
  8. William “Billy” Harris was born on October 05, 1815 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. He died on January 31, 1879 in Walton County, Georgia. He married Harriett Amanda Davenport on November 11, 1841 in Clarke County, Georgia.
  9. Jordan Harris was born in 1816 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. He died on August 17, 1842 in Walton County, Georgia. He married Comfort Whaley on February 21, 1839 in Walton County, Georgia.
  10. Jesse Mercer Harris was born in 1817 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. He died before 1840.

 

John Harris and Mary Walker had the following children:

 

  1. Charles W. Harris was born in 1793 in Virginia. He died in March 1850 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. He married Mary E. “Polly” Strong on April 25, 1816 in Clarke County, Georgia (By: Joseph Walker, MG).
  2. James Walker Harris was born on April 24, 1794 in Virginia. He died on January 21, 1864 in Casulon, Walton County, Georgia.
  3. Sarah Strong “Sallie” Harris was born on June 15, 1795 in Virginia. She died on April 28, 1878 in Walton County, Georgia. She married William Thompson on August 28, 1817 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia.
  4. Nancy Harris was born in 1796 in Virginia. She died between 1870–1880 in Walton County, Georgia. She married John Luther Kilgore on December 14, 1815 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia.
  5. Mary “Polly” Harris was born in 1797 in Virginia. She married James Smith on August 02, 1818 in Clarke County, Georgia (By G. W. Farrar).
